Trinny and Susannah: The naked truth
More than volunteers took part in the event on the Sussex Downs, stripping naked and lying down to form the shape of a giant body. By Jack Fletcher.
The style gurus who made their names telling us how best to cover up our lumps and bumps stripped off with others at the weekend to celebrate the British body in all its shapes and sizes. They asked volunteers to lie on the ground on the Sussex Downs and form living sculptures of a man and a woman in an "en masse celebration". She and Susannah Constantine are best known for giving men and women fashion advice and a makeover on the programme What Not To Wear.
Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine are to return to ITV1 with a series in which they encourage members of the public to get naked and measure their bodies in order to compile the nation's "most comprehensive body census". The pair will visit Newcastle, Birmingham and Brighton next month in a bid to get people to strip for their survey and to sign up for a huge human sculpture, which will form the finale of the three-part series, The Great British Body.
The uber-bitches of yesteryear, with their plummy put-downs and sneering remarks, are nowhere to be seen. Instead, when viewers tune in to their new ITV1 show on Tuesday, they will find two warm and compassionate women helping six couples overcome various difficulties as they try to rebuild their marriages. In astonishing scenes, Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine strip naked behind a screen to encourage couples to do the same and so break down barriers.
British style mavens Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine actually get most of their gear off tonight as they continue their crusade against poorly fitted bras. Lugging a changing room around Britain's shopping centres, they persuade large numbers of women to strip down for a look-see. Turns out that most of them are wearing the wrong size bra, which is making them look and feel a long way short of their best. To get to the root of the problem, Trinny and Susannah go undercover for their own bra fittings and are astonished by the results - Susannah a 34D is variously sized up as 36D, 36C and 32F, while Trinny a 32A is labelled 32C, 34A and 30A.
